The flu vaccine is a safe and effective vaccine. It’s offered every year on the NHS to help protect people at risk of getting seriously ill from flu.
Flu can be unpleasant, but if you are otherwise healthy, it will usually clear up on its own within a week. However, for some people—including those aged 65 and over, pregnant women, and those with underlying health conditions—flu can be more dangerous.
